This month, there is a laundry basket in the church foyer for extra items you may have for OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD shoeboxes. If you have school or hygiene items or toys, we will pack these at the Packing Party on Tuesday, November 16. This year, we especially need small stuffed animals, matchbox-type cars and balls.

Shoeboxes will be available starting Sunday, October 24. Also, on that day, Miki Bristol from Grand Junction will give a brief power point talk about her involvement with Operation Christmas Child. Collection Week at Community Church is Monday, November 15 through Saturday, November 20 9am – 3pm and Sunday, November 21 from 9am – 1pm.

In the early afternoon on November 21, we will bring the filled shoeboxes to the Drop-Off location, Moab Baptist Church. On Monday, November 22, Moab Baptist Church will take all collected shoeboxes to Grand Junction. From there, the shoeboxes will begin their journey, ending in the hands of the eagerly awaiting children.

God’s love and grace are conveyed to these needy children through the power of a simple shoebox. Each shoebox recipient is offered the opportunity to participate in The Greatest Journey, the 12 lesson follow-up discipleship program.

For more information, please contact Donna Hofmann 259-4505 or the church office. Please support this wonderful life-giving ministry through your prayers and your participation by filling shoeboxes.
